Ourpoint
India's marriage app that actually wants you married. Five verified people a week, one shared round of AI-written questions, a Friday pick, and conversations that open only on mutual interest. Pay per conversation, no subscriptions.
Overview
Ourpoint is a marriage-focused matchmaking service for India, launching in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. Instead of an endless pool, each member gets five verified people every week. From Monday to Friday, both people answer one question a day, and answers are revealed side by side only once both have replied. On Friday each member picks up to two, a conversation opens only if the interest is mutual, and five new people arrive on Sunday.
Challenge
Matrimony sites lean on huge searchable databases, caste filters and auto-renewing subscriptions, and dating apps reward swiping over intent. The aim was a slower, more deliberate format for people who want to marry, with real trust: every member verified, one-sided interest never shown, and pricing that does not profit from keeping people single.
Approach
A weekly clock runs every city on the same rhythm: new people on Sunday, a question a day through the week, picks on Friday. An AI assistant interviews each member once and writes pair-specific questions that deepen over the week, but never writes messages for them. Verification is human-checked with a live selfie and government ID, with documents deleted after 30 days. Optional non-negotiables such as religion, diet and smoking apply in both directions, and each city's weekly pool is gender-balanced with a ratio cap and referral-ordered queue.
Outcome
Live at ourpoint.in with pay-per-conversation credit packs, refunds for conversations that are declined or go unanswered, and no auto-renewal. Terms, privacy, safety, refund and grievance policies are built in to meet Indian compliance requirements.
