Margo

An AI front desk for Instagram. Margo answers DMs from your own services, prices and policies, books appointments into open calendar slots, sends reminders and review requests, and hands off to a person when it should.

2026

Overview

Margo runs the Instagram inbox for local service businesses: salons, barbershops, med spas, lash and brow studios, fitness studios, trainers and coaches. It replies to DMs using the business's own services, prices and policies, books appointments in the DM against real calendar availability, turns post comments into DM conversations, and follows up with reminders and review requests after each visit.

Challenge

For many small businesses Instagram is the booking channel, but the owner is busy with clients when the messages come in, so leads go cold and after-hours enquiries are lost. An assistant answering on their behalf has to be trustworthy: it can never invent a price or offer a time that is not free, and it has to know when a refund, complaint or odd request needs a human.

Approach

Margo connects through Meta's official Instagram API and login, so no one shares a password. Answers are grounded in the business's own service menu and policies rather than open-ended generation, and booking only ever offers slots read live from Google Calendar, Cal.com or Calendly. Industry connectors add the pieces each vertical needs, such as patch tests, deposits, intake and consent forms and memberships, alongside link-in-bio, tracked links, keyword replies and broadcasts. Unhappy clients are routed privately to the owner instead of to a public review.

Outcome

Live at bymargo.co with a free plan, a $19/month Pro plan and a $79/month Growth plan, plus a guarantee: if a paid plan does not book three appointments in 30 days, the next month is free. Weekly reports show bookings, revenue and how much happened after hours.
